By Federal Law No. 546-FZ dated December 28, 2024, the State Duma amended Articles 10 and 26.1 of the Law of the Russian Federation "On Protection of Consumer Rights", according to which, from September 1, 2026, when selling goods remotely, sellers and marketplace owners will be required to indicate in the product description links to a website page containing an entry in the Rosaccreditation register about the certificate of conformity and (or) declaration of conformity, confirming that this product meets the established requirements.
If the products being sold are not subject to mandatory confirmation of conformity, then the owner of the marketplace will have to provide the seller with the technical ability to provide this information in the product description, and the buyer to familiarize himself with it.
The specified requirements do not apply to used goods and cases where the purchase and sale agreement is concluded in a retail facility where buyers are provided with the opportunity to review information on mandatory confirmation of conformity of goods.
This measure is aimed at protecting right of buyers to receive reliable information about products and their manufacturers.
