On December 11, 2022, changes to the technical regulations of the Customs Union for low-voltage equipment (TR CU 004/2011) and for electromagnetic compatibility of technical means (TR CU 020/2011), adopted by Decisions of the EEC Council dated 10.06.2022 No. 90 and No. 91 respectively, came into force.
The changes are aimed at clarifying the areas of application of technical regulations, eliminating duplication of the provisions of other adopted technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (Customs Union).
For example, from the scope of the technical regulation "On the safety of low-voltage equipment" is excluded previously used (operated) low-voltage equipment, as well as low-voltage equipment included in the scope and subject to confirmation of compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of machinery and equipment" (TR CU 010/2011), "Safety of elevators" (TR CU 011/2011) and "On the safety of equipment for operation in explosive environments" (TR CU 012/2011), except for cables, wires, cords.
Products that are included in the scope of other technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (Customs Union), which establish electromagnetic compatibility requirements for these products, as well as medical devices and previously used (operated) technical means, will not be subject to the technical regulation "Electromagnetic compatibility of technical means".
The changes also clarify the definitions of some terms used in the technical regulations, the information specified in the operational documents for products, and the lists of products subject to confirmation of compliance with the safety requirements of technical regulations in the form of certification.
Transitional periods of changes in TR CU 004/2011 and TR CU 020/2011 establish that conformity assessment documents for products issued before the date when changes come into force are valid until the expiration of these documents.
